On March 13, 2014, hundreds of marketers will converge in New York City to attend the DMA Mobile Marketing Day, co-hosted by LLC’s Mobile Marketer and the Direct Marketing Association Education Team. Attendees will learn about creating comprehensive marketing plans with mobile marketing strategies. The one-day event will be comprised of six separate presentations spread out over nine and a half hours.

One of the big reasons to attend this year’s Mobile Marketing Day is Leslie Hall. Leslie is brilliant at digital marketing and will be putting mobile in language that all digital marketers can understand. One big problem with mobile is that the rate of change is faster than the rate of understanding, but Leslie’s ability to put mobile strategy in the context of web strategy will help digital marketers at any level better-understand how to leverage mobile in their field.

Retrofitting Web to Mobile

Leslie Hall, co-founder and president of ICED Media, one of the industry’s leading digital marketing agencies, will be a speaker at the fifth annual DMA Mobile Marketing Day. Hall’s presentation, “Social Media: Retrofitting an Old Web Model to Mobile,” is set to take place right in the middle of the day. Hall will take time to discuss how social media is largely a mobile game and how to get in on it. According to the DMA Mobile Marketing Day’s website, her presentation will discuss:

  • How the key social media players—Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Google+—will shape advertising and marketing messages on mobile
  • The struggle to monetize social media on mobile
  • Lingering issues for mobile from social media ROI on the PC Web
  • Will marketing overload turn off consumers from continuing engagement over mobile social media?

Who is Leslie Hall?

Before Leslie Hall and her partner launched ICED Media in 1999, Leslie spent years working as the first in-house digital sales executive for Vibe and Spin Media Ventures. While working as a digital sales executive, Leslie created solutions for advertisers to develop deeper relationships with their clients. Leslie’s efforts at Vibe and Spin resulted in greater recognition and profitability for those magazines. Once Hall and her partner, Reggie Miller, started ICED Media, they’ve worked with all kinds of companies including Kmart, Sears, Maybelline, CNN, Comedy Central, QVC, Avalon Organics, and more. Hall has given talks at the 2013 Social Commerce Summit, SXSW Panelpicker: Women Unfiltered 2013, Social Media ROI 2012, and more. She’s a trailblazer in her industry and someone to keep on your radar. Her presentation at the DMA Mobile Marketing Day is something that you won’t want to miss.

Why DMA Mobile Marketing Day?

The DMA Mobile Marketing Day is all about educating professionals so that they can be more effective at their jobs. Unlike many other conferences that last several days, Mobile Marketing Day lasts only one day, packing in everything you need to learn. In addition to Hall’s presentation, there are many more presentations by other engaging speakers, including Mickey Alam Khan, Michael Becker, Dan Kenger, Alex Boyce, Jeff Hasen, William Heberer, and more.
